Out of the total population of Simpson-Chaco, there are 6,364 households registered as of 2000, 1,169 of which are male-run and 422 female-run. 2,925 children are present in these households. There are 366 non-family households, mostly composed of single men and women living alone.

Only 0.6% of Simpson-Chaco residents are foreign-born, with 87.8% of them naturalized citizens. The most common places of origin for foreign-born citizens of Simpson-Chaco are Mexico, Korea and the Philippines. For US-born residents, 5,098 of them were born in the state of New Mexico. 149 came from the Northeast, 172 from the Midwest, 328 from the South and 931 from the West.

English is the primary language of the Simpson-Chaco community, with 56.5% of them using it at home. A second larger percentage of 39.1% speak a consolidation of other languages, and 4.2% speak Spanish at home. A tiny 0.2% is alloted for those using Asian or any other Pacific Island language. According to statistics though, a good number of the people using foreign languages also speak English well.

Industries and occupations in Simpson-Chaco vary depending on gender. For males, the trend is towards mining, construction, agriculture, repair and maintenance, utilities, public administration and truck transportation. For females, the common industries are educational services, health care, accommodation and food services, public administration, personal and laundry services, social assistance, finance and insurance.
